Super Lube- Dry Lube

dri_20film_201_20sm.jpg

I have tried just about every lubrication product for my bicycle. The problem with most of then is that although they lubricate moving parts well, they leave some sort of “wet” coating that dust and dirt adheres to. I picked up a bottle of Super Lube, Dry Lube at Lowes Home Improvement and it is all I have used since.

Let me say the product specs are way beyond what you need for a bicycle. It is heat resistant to 750 degrees and works in low temperatures as well. Dry Lube contains PTFE which is the “slippery surface known to man.” This is mainly an industrial purpose lubricant and at around $6.00 a can it is definitely not the cheapest.

I DO NOT use this product on my chain which I clean and lube regularly, but on every other moving part of the bicycle. The aerosol contains a solvent that blasts road grime away and leaves a “dry” coating that resist airborne contaminants. It gets into all those small cracks and crevices, removes the dirt, and keeps the parts working precisely. If you have not cleaned your drive train in a while you will notice an immediate improvement. The white PTFE coating overspray can easily be wiped off. If you only have a few minutes to clean your drive train this is the way to go. I apply it regularly to all moving parts including my cables.

Can be purchased at Lowes home improvement or online here http://www.super-lube.com/
